Ek Dham Yatra means visiting anyone among the Char Dhams i.e. Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri or Yamunotri. Badrinath is the most visited Dham in the Ek Dham Yatra. Every year Badrinath receives the largest number of tourists.

Badrinath Yatra 2025:  Badrinath is the most important place in Char Dham Yatra in India. Badrinath is the sacred place of Vishnu Bhagwan. Lord Vishnu is worshipped in the dual form of Nar Narayan.  According to Skanda Puran, there are several sacred shrines in heaven, on earth and in hell but there is no shrine like Badrinath. It is believed that Badrinath yatra opens the door to attain moksha. Badrinath is one among the 108 Divya Deshams of Vaishnavities. One can take a dip at Tapt Kund in front of Badrinath temple. You can also visit Mata Murty temple, Bheem Pul, Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa and Panch Prayag during Ek Dham Yatra. Badrinath yatra is considered as the most pious and important yatra for Hindus.  Badrinath yatra opens for 06 to 07 months every year from April to Nov. The opening dates of Badrinath are announced on Vasant Panchami every year. Badrinath is accessible by road and vehicles go up to the main town. The duration of Badrinath yatra is 02 Nights/ 03 days from Haridwar.

Kedarnath yatra 2025:  Kedarnath yatra is another important yatra in Ek Dham yatra. Kedarnath temple belongs to Lord Shiva and Kedarnath is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva. You get transformed to another world when the pandits begin the chanting of mantras. It feels like an unearthly experience, as though Lord Shiva Himself is present inside the Sanctum of the Temple. It is an experience that one must revel in at least once in their lifetime.

The motorable road goes up to Sonprayag which is 215km from Haridwar. After Sonprayag you have to hire a sharing jeep up to Gaurikund. Gaurikund to Kedarnath is 16 km by trek. The trek has all the facilities for tourists like tea snacks shops, toilets, resting shelters, medical facilities and SDRF personnel to help tourists.

Gangotri Yatra 2025: Gangotri is a 275km drive from Haridwar. Gangotri is also an important Dham in the Char Dham Yatra. Gangotri is the starting point of the river Ganga. There is a temple of Goddess Ganga which is worshipped by pilgrims. According to Hindu Mythology, Gangotri is the place from where Ganga came down to earth. The origin of Ganga is located at Gaumukh which is around 20 km from Gangotri. Gangotri is accessible by road and the vehicles go up to Gangotri.  The temple of Gangotri opens every year on Akshaya Tritiya.

Yamunotri is the starting point of the Holy river Yamuna. Yamunotri temple is devoted to Goddess Yamuna. Surya Kund is a hot water spring located close to the temple and pilgrims dip rice and potatoes tied in a muslin cloth. This is offered as Prasad in the temple. Divya Shila is located close to Surya Kund and worshipped before pooja is offered to the main deity. Yamunotri temple opens every year on Akshay Tritiya.
