Do Dham yatra means visiting any two dhams from Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. But Do Dham yatra is mainly considered as the yatra to Kedarnath and Badrinath. Badrinath is the place sacred to Vishnu Bhagwan in the dual form of Nar Narayan while Kedarnath is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. This yatra has a lot of significance for Hindus.

This new route has 5 emergency helipads to evacuate tourists in emergency situations. The new trek has many facilities for tourists like tea- snack shops, toilets, resting shelters, medical facilities and State Disaster Response Force personnel to help the tourists. Due to these steps taken by the Govt ,do dham yatra 2019 was very successful and around 9.5 lakh tourists visited Kedarnath Badrinath during 2019.
